Information, please - Three, four or five god quality hotels or pubs - Around the Northumberland 250

Not for cars but there is loads of FREE carparking outside the Hotel. Moffet has a very wide double main street.
Would you want to put ‘nice cars’ in the Main Street ?
He did ask for car parking, I take it he meant off road parking

Farne diving, I guess so. Nice bloke, Stan? he owned a wreck, and some kind of landing craft-infantry which we dived off. I don’t recall it having the drop front of a typical LC. I’d have to dig out the log books.

Thats right (y)

His family owned Beadnell Hall and the wreck was the Somali.

A friend of mine (a real SAS who won the DSC in Oman) blew the wheel off it's rear gun.

It really can be a small world. ❤️

We've stayed in the Victoria Hotel in Bamburgh; perfectly good room and board, I think their car park is at the rear, although we parked on the street 👍🏾

It’s bloody years back, probably late 80s early 90s since I was diving regularly.

I was on a biking holiday in Ireland last month - stopped by Lavelle’s to see Des, who’s now in his 90’s. - that was another blast from the past!

Here's another one that is on your route - on the roundabout beside Shaping Point 38.

This one is very close to your route too - same area as the George above.

Wapping, you may like to look at the Derwent arms in Edmund buyers. It’s very good.
It’s got about 7 rooms, but also has a flat which takes 4 IIRC. it’s not far off your route. I think it has parking to the rear but not certain. Foods good as well

Another one on your route is the Lord Crewe Arms hotel in Blanchland. Super hotel , but very pricy.

Moffat House is a splendid hotel with good food. plenty of parking for cars and bike but THE CARPARK IS GRAVEL so just Gu Steady
Rooms are very nice especially the top floor one ones. Moffat is a great little town with an active centre and lots of pubs restaurants and a good chippy

I did look and this is the only “god quality” place I could find

Don’t know about the parking tho’

Couple of suggestions for the south-west section, which is my neck of the woods:

Twice Brewed Inn (next to Once Brewed, obviously). Plenty of rooms, decent food, very good brewery on site, has its own car park, and even an observatory if you want to make the most of our renowned Dark Skies™.

Lord Crewe Arms, Blanchland. Luxury hotel in an old abbey building (I think it was). Excellent food, private car park, decent local beer (possibly even from the aforementioned Twice Brewed).

And a slightly different suggestion for the northern end: Cheviot Brewery has glamping facilities and does pizza, although you'd have to be careful about what night you booked to make sure the taproom was open:

Thank you everyone.

I’ll sift through the suggestions when I’m back from the bonnie banks….

I was at school with the current resident at Bamburgh Castle - I could ask him for recommendations?

Here....

Lovely place, excellent food, plenty of parking and very well located.
They have rooms in the castle and seperate rooms in the grounds.
They also do guided tours of the castle for guests in the mornings.

Hi Richard,

I'm from this area and if you like the slightly busier towns / villages I would suggest Jedburgh, Berwick, Alnwick, for a stop over. Beadnel on the East coast is a nice place to stop as well even though it's not as busy.
Slightly off track is Alston and as people have said Moffat makes a good stop off point, if you look closely you will find a real life size Spitfire that a guy has built and has it on show in his front garden.

TA Steve

I’ll ask again, does it have off road CAR parking ?
No
Link.

Whilst the Buccleugh is excellent for motorcycles and set up for it
I wouldn’t park 5-6 Porsches/Ferraris/McClarens etc in Moffat main square and the owners are maybe looking for digs that are a bit more Country House Hotel, if they drive cars like that
