Ingleton North Yorkshire

Went out for a short bimble this morning. Decided I would follow a circular I’ve ridden before . So I headed to Ingleton & hung a right (north) up through Kingsdale (lovely 9 miles into Dent). Anyway plan was to ride through Dent & out towards the Hawes/Ingleton road to go through Horton in Ribblesdale & onto Settle & the A65 back home.
Anyway (the point of this post) is that the road is closed at Denthead Viaduct. I had to turn around & go back to Dent into Sedburgh & out from there to pick up the A65 to get back home. Consequently missed my mate for a swift one in the local. My Sundays gone all to pot. Be warned…

It’s been closed for a good few weeks now. It caused us a few problems this weekend whilst working as a medic on the Fellsman. Apparently there is talk around digging out some of the field to create a new bit of road but currently nothing is happening. A very good reroute is to use the coal road from Cowgill to Garsdale then Hawes and back onto your original route.

Just a quick tip. Always worth checking out ukroadworks.org it shows all the planned and current road works/closures across the whole country. It's quite an eye opener when you see just how many there are.
