My K2 kit has sat in a box for 5 years since I took it off my 1200GS so I figured it was abou time to fit i o my 1250GS.

The cameras are installed but today I attempted to power it up and just got a dim, flickering blue LED on the unit and nothing on the DVR.

I guess the power unit is the first item to eliminate so if anybody has one cluttering their garage I’d be interested in taking it off their hands. They are not available from Innov and he only reseller I can find who has one is in the USA.

TIA.

A dim, flickering blue light on your INNOVV K2 power converter module indicates a voltage drop or insufficient power supply reaching the system.
The K2 smart converter monitors your motorcycle’s battery. Under normal conditions, a solid blue light means it has detected a clean voltage supply above roughly 12.5V. If the voltage drops near or below the threshold, or if there is a loose physical connection, the light will dim, flicker, or pulse

1. Test with an Isolated Power Source
Rule out the motorcycle's electrical system entirely by disconnecting the DC converter module from the K2 DVR main box. Plug a 5V/2A USB power bank directly into the micro-USB port on the K2 DVR unit.
    • If it powers up perfectly: Your DVR and cameras are completely fine, and the issue lies in your converter module wiring or battery voltage.
    • If it still won't turn on: The issue could be a corrupted firmware loop or a hardware fault in the DVR.

2. Check the Battery Voltage
A dying or weak motorcycle battery will cause the converter light to flicker.

Thank you. I’ll check all that when I have time.

Update: I've checked that I can power up the DVR from a USB port on my computer and it does power up. However, it doesn't show in the list of available WiFi networks when I try to connect the App.

Update:
After a good long run yesterday and a night on the optimate for good measure, the converter is now showing a steady blue light. Thanks Casbar for the tip.

I just tried it again (but with the cameras disconnected) and still cannot get a WiFi signal from it. More googling to follow.

Its fubarred - i had exactly the same with my K2, hence changing to a K7

I'm suurprised you cant access the units via bluetooth, the Wifi method is

A) Time consuming and relys on you being able to get a good wifi connection from bike to phone or laptop

B) A faf to set up, data on / off / hotspot not hotspot / data on etc etc etc

C) Requires the bike to be on and (possibly) engine running as there file system isnt logical, so you spend ages looking for files (should you need them ) draining the battery

Oh and my K7 is on the way back - no wifi lol

According to AI, the cameras need to be connected for the wifi to work :nenau so the back of the bike is coming off again today to get it all connected. There's really no room under the 1250's seats is there!

It's all now up and working except that when I run the App, it cannot access the micro SD card. If I use the Shonk Innov adapter to plug it into my laptop and use Diskpart via the CMD prompt, I seem to be able to clear the write protect, except that it doesn't.
I have loads of video recorded on there and I can play it without problem on the computer. :nenau
