Input or thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm thinking of ordering the above items to fit to my 1250 GSA. The power adapter fits in the sat nav prep circuit and has a switched live feed coming off it, if I attach the Innovv radar unit direct to that will it be ok, or would it need to be through a relay?

I'm Not 100% au fait with Can-Bus.

Cheers

I think that is a get out clause in case you try and run a 12v device that pulls way to much power intended for that plug.
I removed my navprep and it now has a carpe Iter 12v BMW control device powered off it that isn't connected to any relay. (it basically allows me to use the wonder wheel to navigate on through a Android device like google maps). This controller also has an additional 12v socket on it so I could power another device via the navprep directly.

Once the bike is switched off, after a few minutes the power is shut off automatically to the plug (its not the device shutting it off its the bike) so won't kill the battery.

I think the key thing is to ensure the device isn't drawing to many amps that the plug is designed for otherwise the canbus will as it says shut it down.

Thank you sir,

Makes me feel better about it. I'll give it a go.

I've not looked yet but assume the Sat Nav prep connector is somewhere at the front under the headlight, is that right?

No problem
Its on the right hand wall as you look down through the forks. easily accessible even with my big hands
Looking at this video should give you a good idea

my k3 system is powered from the sat nav using the denalli plug, the garmin xt2 is plugged on top - didn't fancy breaking the live feed wire despite assurances it was only a pin prick hole and it doesn't throw an error

its ony a live feed to the converter - no issues yet,
the wires tuck under the tank cover so minimal panel removal and the converter unit sits just under a plug above the battery

i needed to extend the converter feed wire but no issues

Thanks for the input. I've ordered the kit to do it, this helps. Just need to decide how to mount the sensor now.

Same with me, didn't want to break into wires on a new bike, still under warranty. For the Third eye, all the control box and excess wires can go under the headlamp so probably no need for the extension unless the wire to the sensor is not long enough.

Just bought the 3rd eye and plan on connecting it to the redundant sat nav connector under the front. Does anyone know what the plug is called and where I can get one, please?
Thanks

If you're not using the BMW nav, Bigcats option is probably better, just find the switched live and isolate the other wires. This that I used goes in line with the nav feed.

I'm going to connect it to the Ez can as that has 3 spare ways.
Time to research connecting the wires now! I don't like messing with electric as I have little understanding of it.

It's easy to install, I did It twice, the first unit was faulty. I'd recommend connecting it up straight to the battery to test it before you do the full install.
