Having been using Go Pro camera for my trip videos, I've taken the plunge and bought a new Insta360 X3 with the usual extras, 1.2m pole, batteries, bike mount kit etc etc.

Haven't had the opportunity to get out with it yet, so looking for advice, tips etc, the pros and cons, and any general comments to its use.

Will be mounted on a 1250GSA and I will be using V30 128GB Scandisk cards.

Thanks in advance :thumby:

If it helps, here are my thoughts/experience with it. (I am not a pro or youtuber)

Get a bigger SD and clear it regularly. I have a 512GB in mine it's good for riding all day over a weekend with a bit spare.
The camera simply stops recording when the card is full.
I turn it off when I stop so the clips are a bit more manageable.
Dash cam mode is ok but only records 1x 30 min rolling video clip. So if you're out all day you might miss that nice bit.
The X3 doesn't start recording automatically you have to start/stop it yourself. (X4 does that).
The battery lasts about 80min so I got a USB cable.
I also got one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D93SZDZ5 for quick mount/dismount. (Not shown in that picture)
It's mounted out in front to be clear of the handlebars but close enough for me to reach to start recording before I head off.
Software is a bit of a challenge but trial and effort will get you there.
