Installing map source from cds help!

Ive just bought sh garmin gps unit with discs and original unlock code. The problem is on installation where the unlock code for mapsource is not accepted by the wizard. It tells me to reinstall Unlock wizard. wtf? Is this product transferable from one owner to another Ive checked the unlock code is correct for the unit from the yellow garmin ticket.

The unlock code goes with the unit. In fact a unit can have 2 unlock codes so you can use mapsource with a second unit.

I guess from what you are saying the install went OK except the unlock Wizard.
Try going into mapsource (assuming it launches OK) and enter ctrl+U . Enter your unlock code there instead.
If this doesn't work I'd be inclined to uninstall Mapsource and do it again from the beginning but this time skip the unlock wizard and just install the program - then try the ctrl+U from mapsource once you know it is all installed OK.

Failing that I haven't got much else to suggest. Did you buy the unit and unlock codes from a reliable source ?

Not any more. From V8 onwards it was 1 unlock only

I'd also go onto Garmins site and register the unit to yourself. This will tell you straight away if it's still registered to the previous owner. If you're still having problems after Geckos suggestions, this could be the answer to the problem

Thanks for replys. I bought from a reliable source 2nd hand with all original contract documents. It was sp111 came with cit nav v7 (off this site) Problem was that in July this year there was a software update (6.14.1) so mapsource would not let me in, previous owner was not aware of this as he is now using 550 Zumo anyway phone call to Garmin helpful young lady talked me through getting the free download and registering the unit in my name. I am now brand garmin and a happy little bunny The last reply was right 1 unlock code to 1 gps unit
