Has anyone changed the orange instrument illumination on a post 2010 rt for white?Struggling to see any Information at night.

I haven't but I notice that they go on and off as the light changes or is that just me ? sometime I wish they would stay on.

Funny you should say that- my pillion reckons they come on and off but i thought it was just that you can see them when it is dark and not when bright light is on the display??....

There is a sensor on dash - turns them on and off depending on light levels.

Damn, so does that mean i have to tell my teenager, that knows everything about everything, he was right all along?

No.
Just stick a bit of insulating tape over the sensor to fool it into making the lights brighter, then tell your teenager that you 'hacked the ECU' :D

Don't know where the sensor is......

but read the manual it tells you how to alter how bright the display is when it does come on.......
Something to do with the two buttons on the dash - the ones that allow you to zero the trip and change the time.
I've only got the 05RT so might be different, though I suspect not.

Yeah going in and out of tunnels, dark wooded areas, rain storms the dash lights come on within a few seconds. Clever stuff!
Especially useful in Norway, with all those tunnels, dark wooded areas and rain storms....
