insurance article

The OP will be mighty relieved. His opening post highlighted increases of 34%. Since then, his own renewal premium increased by only 26%. Whether his 26% increase was from £1 to £1.26 or from £2,500 to £3,150 was never revealed and remains a closely guarded secret.

Wapping - And I see you deleted my post, with no explanation. You really are an ar*e, and I am sure I am not alone on this forum thinking this, with your consant p*ssing on people's threads and pontificating/lecturing on everything. You are the main reason I do not pay to subscribe to this forum any more.

Ref my post #16

Insurance is due for renewal in a few days .... £132.49 for Third Party only.

Rang Bikesure being as a few more CT125 Hunter Cubs are now insured with them.... fingers crossed!

Lovely lady, Tina, spent ages looking for me ... came back after some time with a success story!

£540.00 Fully Comprehensive
Excess of £800 to pay
Must fit extra security as in 'Sold Secure' ground anchor, padlock and chain and disc lock

Mine are better than 'Sold Secure' and I have an alarmed disc lock as well!

I think I'll be chancing it again :blast

:beerjug:

Bikesure seem to massage their premiums in a manner I can't get my head round.
Had a 4 bike policy with them for a few years which now seems untenable.
Main bike £525 then the others at just under £12 each in additon despite quite a variance in values, total £560
On their website, same underwriter, same main bike and details, £179 as solo policy confirmed on phone call. Seems they are hiking the main bike on the multi policy by £346 and increasing the excess to subsidise the other three bikes so they can offer cover on these at minimal cost. Agent denied this strongly on phone, but could offer no explanation stating the underwriters don't share this them. How could she therefore deny the above if she does not know the rationale ? I would far rather have transparency in the renewal quote, keeping the main bike st £179 and the going rate for the others so I know the cost of each and can decide which bikes should stay on the policy or move elsewhere.

Brokers are mainly staffed by button pressers. Try someone else. Like I have stated before, Brokers get different products/deals from underwriters to other brokers, so you can get the same underwriter, but different prices and conditions from different brokers.

Thanks, or in this case different price with the same broker, underwriter , risk profile blah blah. I end up playing that game every year so know how to get the best value for money out of them. Here we go, three policies due before month end, gulp !
