Whenever we've been riding outside of the EU I've been on a hired bike so insurance hasn't been a problem but now it is.
Our starting point is Dubrovnik and we want to get to Istanbul. Crossing Bosnia and Serbia is the most direct option and it might be nice to pop into Montenegro but Norwich Union won't issue a green card for any of them. I can get round the problem by going over the top through Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria and that may be what we end up doing but I'd like the option.
I've seen posts mentioning buying insurance at the border (commonly called 'a worthless piece of paper'!) but not having done this before I don't know whether this is available at all borders. Does anyone know if bike insurance is available at the borders of Bosnia, Serbia and Montenegro please?
Thanks.
Kevin
