Sorry Mods did not know where to put this for maximum impact (please feel free to move accordingly ) but I really want everyone to know this !!

Ok last week I bought my new Transalp collecting it last Saturday so I did the insurance thing !! spoke to Express where I had My 2023 R1250RS insured, got a price to change an additional £759.00 that was not happening £656 from a well known insurance company as a new policy, so I asked them to cancel the insurance from Saturday at 6 pm, yes no worries I was told "there will be a cancellation fee of £60 which I swallowed and they would send me an Invoice, at the end of the call I just confirmed with the guy as his English was not great at all that the cover will cease at 6PM Saturday !! Where I find out that he had cancelled the insurance with immediate effect, when I explained that I was some 60 miles away from home and could now not get home as I was on the RS he replied that they could not re instate the policy now as I had cancelled it !! "but I did not you did" and 4 days too early! anyway a horrendously long story very shortened, he phoned me back at 17:45 and still could not do anything, there was no supervisors on site no line managers nothing but he did make the mistake of letting me know the call was being recorded, I made him admit to his stupid mistake 3 times but still had no insurance cover to get home but the cancellation fee of £60 would be waived due to his mistake
I sort of lost it at that point and used some choice words you would not use in front of your mother, hoping that that would trigger a return call from someone with a modicum of common sense but nothing and to date still nothing despite making a complaint,

I had to re insure the bike with a new company there and then with a £54 down payment just to get home and to get the bike to the trade in on Saturday and then cancel it using my 14 day cancellation clause

I got home yesterday to an Invoice for £29.00 for the Cancellation fee, I nearly shit a cat, they can go forth and multiply I will not be paying anything to this bunch of cowboys and will without doubt go to court do defend myself against such a bunch of half whited gobshites who have monumentally cocked up and admitted it, if it was not for me being half on the ball would have left me un insured for 4 days

Just a warning guys I would not touch these idiots with a 3 Mtr cattle prod, absolutes shambles

this is a very shortened turn of events of the day but you can get the drift, avoid like the plague

If only I had the room in the garage. Have a bump

Insurance - It’s a mine field
At least they lived up to their name - EXPRESS and cancelled immediately 😋
Lovely colour though
GLWS 🙃😉

Express is a sub brand of Carole Nash, owned by Atlanta, and now the administrator for the BMW insurance scheme. I see trouble ahead...

Get in touch with the financial ombudsman they were great & free. sorted my problem I had with carolnash .

The recording will have mysteriously "gone missing" It only seems to work for their benefit. They'll still have you choice words bit.

he will need to make a formal complaint with Express first as the ombudsman will only get involved if that does not lead to resolution

Yes I had no luck from Carole Nash that's why the ombudsman was my next port of call .
Ian.

I have had this thread moved from the For Sale section.

OP, start by registering a formal complaint, in writing, with the insurance provider. The details as to how to do this will be on their website and / or in the documents you received. The company has a binding obligation to address your grievance in a timely fashion. If, after this process is complete, you are still unhappy, raise the matter with the Ombudsman. Details as to how to do this will either be in the same place as the complaints procedure blurb or on the Ombudsman’s website.

I'm surprised at the £656 to insure your Transalp Rob, I think I paid less than £200 for my new Hornet (now sold), appreciate your a bit younger than me and there is the post code influence, but even so......
