Tis that time again and my insurance is due for renewal!

I've been quoted €293.55 for comp on the '06 GS 1200 from Quinn.

AON were over €370 for the same.

Any suggestions on an alternative?

Decision time end of January.:thumb

I played Adelaide and Carole against each other last June. Started at 600 and ended at €444 with Carole with a much better policy.

Carole Nash were cheapest for me even out of the no name companies and the policy is top notch. BMW was twice the price so they obviously dont like something about me.

Insurance Game again - Ireland

Yes mick it started before Christmas , with a Call from Adelede wanting to quote, they were shocked that Carole Nash my current Insurer, had not issued a Renewal notice, The Renewal Showed up on Christmas Eve and had Gone from €340 (Bmw 1200 + others) to €410 . a few days later a call from Carole Nash chasing the Quote, and wanting me to renew, I said no I wanted to get other Quotes , but a short conversation later and the price had dropped to the previous €340. he was quite upset I still would not commit ,
adelade rang back and they could not come anywhere near where, Carole Nash had Quoted, So it looks like back to Carole

BMW, or Carol Nash :beerjug:

Nash probably best if you have more than one bike and they are not all BMW's

BM insurance BM's only

Best regards Stretch :)

Carole nash just got my business again. Down from 550 fully comp to 450 fully comp. Best policy available here in Ireland afaics

Best So Far....

Well I've got quotes from Quinn, AON, Carole Nash and Adlede.

Comp cover on '06 gs 1200. value € 7000, Full licence, no Accidents, claims, points etc.

AON - € 370 including € 650 excess
Carole Nash - € 430, c/w Euproean Breakdown but € 650 excess!
Adlede - € 316, including € 25 legal cover and € 250 excess
Quinn - € 293.55, roadside assistance and breakdown cover, € 250 excess.

I'll probably be staying with Quinn!:)

Carroll and Nash wanted near 900 off me but I had a chat with them and it dropped to 550. Happy days for a second year policy.

Axa do bike insurance now. Might be worth look. But they want more then a year no claims that the reason I didn't look at them.

Was always insured with BMW but my recent (like yesterday) renewal I'm told that BMW no longer doing it and that I've been moved to Allianz

You bet I'm feckin' not ... I'm not a number to be passed along the line, so now looking around.

Police class one this that'n other, IAM Examiner, 47 years riding with no claims, fully comprehensive £221.35 for a 2008 F800GS

I need to look around methinks ....

Trouble is that I live in Balby

Insurance

Footman James- for me half the price of Carole Nash and very pleasant to deal with

They quote me for renewal, 47 years riding with no claims, fully comprehensive £221.35 for a 2008 F800GS. Just the one bike with no breakdown cover!

Just insured with Carole Nash, not done any phoning round. Now insured the 2008 F800GS and the 2007 G650Xcountry, both fully comprehensive, complete with full European breakdown for both 'bikes ..... £269.00

Just noticed that this is in the Oirish Section .... hope it doesn't make much difference to you guys...

Started out with Auntie Carole, got a hefty discount for moving to Adelaide for year 2, but no breakdown cover. For year 3 I got the renewal notice in the post from Adelaide and called Carole and again got a fairly decent reduction again (and as others have said I think it's a better policy) .
Then I got a call from Adelaide about the renewal, I told him I'd already gone with the opposition. He was most upset that I hadn't given him an opportunity to match the quote. My take is you give me a reasonable quote in the first place and I'll take it there and then rather than playing the ring around game! :blast

Go with Quinn. They look after your money!

I was on the wrong end of them last year where their customer knocked my bike over. For a piddling claim they made it as hard as they could for me to extract money out of them and kept me hanging on for ages!!:augie

Latest Update:

Original quote from Adlede - € 316, including € 25 legal cover and € 250 excess, but EXCLUDING Breakdown @ €45.00.
Comparing like for like, Quinn € 293.55 vrs Adlede @ € 336, excl legal but Incl Breakdown.

Well today Adlede came back to me, just checking on their offer!

I told them they were out quite a bit, said Quinn was between € 280-290.

He spoke to his "supervisor" and came back with € 265 incl breakdown, comp cover!:thumb2

Not bad!

Now I have to see if Quinn will come down!:aidan

Go with Adelaide even if they are more expensive. I'll never deal with Quinn again. As mentioned above they are the Ryanair of insurance.
