Chatting to a friend and he was saying that although you have 90 days foreign cover on your motto policy and maybe yearly on travel / health insurance you are limited to 30 days for any one trip .is this correct .

Read every policy before purchase, it might be 30 but mine is 90 days for travel and motor

PS As many other posts on the forum confirm; you’ll sure as hell be reading it AFTER the event and (very possibly) wishing you’d read and understood it earlier.

As Mr Wapping succinctly puts it, it varies. My motorcycle policies all give 90 days of cover, but some limit to 30 days in one trip. This cover is fully comp, but EU minimum is covered for the whole year.

Travel insurance is also variable, and to add to it, check breakdown policies too - RAC only cover 1 call-out every 90 days in Europe

Also check your home insurance policy. There will be a limit on how long the house can be empty and you still get full cover.

It’d be a shitter if you went away for the full 90 days your motor insurance policies might allow for to find your house burgled/flooded/burnt down on return and find it’s not covered coz you’ve been away too long.

….edit and check what occupied means. My policy changed recently on this aspect so that getting my son who doesn’t normally live with us to stay a night occasionally no longer works. It has to be a member of my household now.
