Intake manifold Clip Pliers

Very bad advice Bendy Toy.
Jubilee Clips probably the worst choice as the grooves for the thread in Jubilee Clips cut into the rubbers. Plus I'd like to see the look of the Jubilee Clips that would go round that size of pipe...
The thread on Zebra clips does not go through completely. The second best choice could be the clips that were on the 1100s and 1150s.
Best choice? The ones fitted as standard. The correct length and people with hams for hands cannot overtighten them.

Jubilee Clips. Dear oh...

What bollocks jublee clips will go around anything from petrol pipes to drain pipes no probs, still, this is the 12100 section.....

Very bad advice ghiribizzo :D

They are far far too wide. ;)

You need a simple pair of nail pliers to undo and redo the 1200 clips. Squeeze the two "pips" together and they come undone, do the opposite to relock.

Standard width jubilee clips are too wide but what's wrong with 8mm band clips in stainless? The standard clips are 8mm. As for damaging the rubbers, anyone gormless enough to force them tight enough to chew the rubber hose has no right to be working on the bike.

Worm clips of correct size are reusable, no corrosion low cost and no faffing with pliers you probably will never use for pulling nails. And with the worm underneath the look is neat and clean.

They are also secure enough for turbo hoses so more than up to the task.

Ignore the luddites think laterally.

I think my pliers are Sykes-Pickavant for ligarex hose clips IIRC. Had them years, probably used them twice. Steptoes method is much cheaper.

Pablo, thanks for the link but are you not on the wrong side of the cylinder? I'm on the intake side.

Steptoe, thanks for that, worked just fine. Had a pair in the workshop and once you see how the clips operate, it's a great tip.

Did a bit of digging and these are the brand of clamps they actually on the bike.

It would appear that no special tool is required. Just says pincers here.
