Anyone have any experience with Intarides RP1 rider to pilion system? If so I'd appreciate any comments especially in respect of comparisons with Starcom1 and or Autocom units.

Cheers
Steve

RP1

I've used Intaride PMR radios quite happily for about 2 years, so when they brought out the RP1, I ordered one of the first. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to fitting it until recently only to find that the Pillion to Pillion link began to 'cycle' after about 10 mins, turning itself on and off ! Added to that I cannot get the Bike to Bike to work on Vox.

However, when I contacted them they immediately replied 'send it back and we'll fix or replace', despite it being a year old.

I asked for it back before next Friday as I'm off to France; i'll post the outcome.

i have the Rp1 system, had it for nearly a year, seems to work ok, i have a quest with motorbike mount, which i use with the connector plugged into the pmr cable, i only use the pmr when on long runs in groups, on the loudest setting i can hear ok up to about 80, though my helmet is a very noisy caberg j1, you can now get a radio from intaride, which can easy be set to 2w instead of 500mw as per uk law, mine was one of the early ones, which developed a fault, this was quickly fixed by intaride and they updated the software in the unit.

Thanks guys, sounds like their after sales is pretty good.
Might take the plunge tomorrow, but need to find out from them if their kit can be fitted into a Schuberth lid (which I haven't bought yet as I want to make sure the two things are compatable)

Well, my Intaride RP1 arrived this morning whilst I was at work. On my return home I decided to install it on to the bike and fit one headset to my newly acquired System lid.
All was going well until I plugged the unit in and then...........................sweet :eek::eek::eek: all!!! It doesn't work at all, not a squeak, not a sound.

Under normal circumstances I'd be pissed off, but this is 5 days before we go to France for our first ever bike powered holiday, 2 of those days being this weekend which obviously means I cant speak to anyone at Intaride until Monday.
Hopefuly they'll send a replacement unit out by Tuesday.

As a kid, my Airfix kits always had parts missing, little did I know that this trend would follow me through life!!!

Thoroughly :eek::eek::eek::eek:ed off,
Steve

Intaride RP1 all sorted now!!

Dave at Intaride returned the unit yesterday just in time for our holiday to France.

Well done Dave, top bloke!!

Just fitted to the bike and took it out on its maiden voyage. Bloody excellent, well pleased with it.
