I got this message today from Intaride. If you are interested, you can pre-register on their website until Friday the 23rd to benefit from the launch price.
Good news is their wireless system also works on other brands intercom (including A*****m), and it's not bluetooth so it doesn't interfere with your phone or gps (anything plugged into the intercom will be sent wirelessly to the pods on the helmets). Bad news is it's £249 (that's the reduced launch price:eek: )...
No affiliation, just posting this in case you want to register your interest with them by friday and potentially benefit from a reduced price.
Also interested to know what you all think of course...

Well, it finally looks like the new "Liberty" wireless system is ready for launch!

It's been a long year since we first announced the concept, and there have been a few stumbling blocks along the way, but at last we have put them behind us and as you may have heard, we recently demonstrated the Liberty system at the Scottish Bike Show, in Edinburgh, to a great response.

Our website has just been updated with the latest details for you to look at.

http://www.intaride.com/ridertopillion.html

We know there have been a number of "Bluetooth" systems launched during this year, but these generally seem to only do one thing or another, quite limited in their scope. Nothing so far compares with the Liberty.

General Spec's for “Liberty” include:

* Smaller, more streamlined "Pod" unit for your helmet.
* Full Stereo music, to both Rider & Pillion.
* Full Duplex speech with "Professional" Sidetone. (Both can talk & hear yourselves at the same time).
* Vox activated microphones.
* Approx' 20+ hours constant music on a single charge
* Approx 1 hr charge from mains or bike 12v power
* Ability to plug into other makes of intercom / on-board entertainment systems, upgrading them to "Wire-free".

Our reason for writing to you is that we are now ready to manufacture our first batch of “Liberty” systems & of course we need to have a rough idea of how many to make.

The Launch price for all those like yourselves who have pre-registered will be:

UK= £249 GB Pounds USA=$470 US Dollars EU=€360 Euros

This will include 1 x “Hub” unit + 2 x “Pods” for your helmets, headsets, chargers etc.

We are not asking for any money or deposits at this time, only your response to give us an approximate idea of the number of units to make initially. After the first production run, the introductory offer will no longer be available. We will need to know by Friday 23rd March, whereupon the list for pre-registration will be closed.

Your early response would be very much appreciated.

Best regards
The IntaRide Team

I got the email too but I don't think £249 is at all bad for a complete intercom system with rider/pillion bluetooth.

Autocom's entry level kit for Rider/pillion is £150ish and the next one up is £200ish and both are wired systems.

Compare to the BMW bluetooth option and it's positively cheap. (But then what isn't? :D )

The real question is will it be any good? It's been in development for so long that I really hope they've done a good job.

I have to say I'm tempted...

I have just fitted an old interide system to my 12gs and although bulky the sound quality (what realy matters ) is spot on. I only have my garmin 2610 and rider to pillion through it at the moment (am looking for a good rugged mp3 player) but all seems good to me.

schiannini that just the wireless bit addon, you still need an intercom system of some type, be it intrarides own or A N other so that then comes to some £454 :eek:

Just re-read it and it looks like you're right, which does make it a bit pricey...

I was confused by the bit that says "Hub unit can run Rider to Pillion + Music or B2B radio or GPS "stand alone" without pluggin in any other intercom units. If you plug in a conventional intercom unit, you will get all of it's features at the same time..."

Does that mean you do need an intercom or that you don't :nenau

But then it does say at the bottom of the page: "Please note that this is a wireless rider to pillion accessory for our Evo kit. You must also buy or already have, an Evo or similar intercom kit for it to plug into if you want to add more than 1 device over rider & pillion"

So they're not getting my £250 to do their product testing for them...

The thing is it's gonna be pricey as it's the only system on the market at the minute other than the bluetooth ones and they seem to cause more problems than they solve, if they do everything they say and are of good enough quality then why not. It just depends how much you dislike wiring yourself to your bike.:)

You definitely need an intercom to use the £249 wireless kit...
Apart from the price (:eek: :eek: indeed!), I think I'll wait to hear about the sound quality and the actual battery life from the first guinea pigs before I make a decision. Being wireless is an attractive proposition, but if it means cr*p sound and/or having to remember to charge my helmet everytime I take the bike, it's a bit much for me...:nono
