Intelligent Spam?

Noticed a new thing this morning. Spam mail apeing the name of senders of "real" mail into my box - taking the first name of the sender and using that as the spam sender.

Is this new? Where's it coming from - Freeserve/Wanadoo?

It's something I've noticed recently as well... nearly opened a few

FWIW I'm on pipex, so it's not just wanadoo, etc.
