I pulled in at a Cheshire cafe recently and as I was walking in, passed a nice looking G/S - HPN tank, panniers, dusty and 'used' looking with all the gear for a big trip. The owner was just leaving so other than a quick 'hi - nice bike' I didn't get to chat.
The other notable thing about the bike was a set of chunky upside down forks, together with big, effective looking front brake - I've never seen this before (not that surprising I guess, as I'm only an armchair airhead 'looker'
). Is this a common / easy fitment? Looks a great, if not expensive way to improve the front end?
The other thing was that as he pulled away, I noticed that he had an Aussie number plate! (it then dawned on me that he had an Aussie accent) - big trip indeed
I'm kicking myself that I didn't find out more - had I realised where he was from I'd have tried to have more of a chat.
