What do you reckon they did to it to get that much power out!? That's over 25 pferdestarke's more than standard! 25%! :eek :)

I dont hope its his kid that started drawing a pic and they just posted it next to the bike lol

Sure it's not a difference between the GS and the S? The GS max power (100hp) is at 7000 rpm and the S is at 122hp at 8250 rpm.

Whatever, if it's a before and after, they've taken out the rev limiter at around 7400 rpm

The graph was posted by the side of the bike ( to the left ) & here is the info sent to me by my friend Mike.....

Here is something that you (maybe some others too) may find interesting, Larry. While I was over there, the BMW dealers celebrated the start of the riding season with a "Spring-Kick-Off" open house. The place I usually go to had a big display of all new for 2007 bikes and a unique selection of in-house produced performance models. The master technician in the shop has somewhat of a reputation as a hot-rodder. One of the bikes on display was a heavily modified R1200GS. And to prove the claim, they had a dyno chart with it. Check out these numbers for torque and hp. Blue =before, red = after. No too shabby for "half a Volkswagen engine"

From my friend Mike......

Yes, Larry. The dealer's name is Bernard & Roehrich located in Sinn, Germany. There is more detailed info about the GS hop-up in an article in the January-March BMW Motorcycle special of the German magazine "mot"
I have a spare copy I can send you, but it is all in German. Maybe I can translate a few key things.

i bet

they stuck an S engine in a gs or they added the cams and ecu from th S. bet it fun to ride:eek:

More info.......

The dealer's website is www.bernhardt-roehrich.de

The master tech's name is Andreas Reh and his e-mail is: removed for security, if interested, PM me

He gets around 121 hp out of the GS by installing custom made 304-degree cams (Dirk Scheffer, Edelweiss Motorsport), special made Mahle pistons that are similar to the R1200S units, resulting in a 12.5:1 compr ratio. A specialist reprograms the eprom providing more fuel. It needs a modified intake manifold for more air. Rev limiter is bumped up from 7,500 to 8,450 rpm.
Exhaust is a complete replacement by SR Racing (Sepp Bruchschlögl). Reh recommends modified valve springs and new lifters, however, claims that they are not absolutely necessary. Acceleration performance of the bike is supposed to be comparable to the R1200S.
They charge approx. 18,000 Euro for a complete bike. Tuning incl. exhaust is approx 3,500 Euro.
A chassis modification incl new rims , Wilbers shock and 190/50ZR17 rear is another 1,000 Euro

His bike was reviewed in Motorrad recently. I picked up a copy in Germany but my German is pretty basic and I could not understand all of it. I bet it has much more vibration than a standard GS with higher compression and lumpier cams. Would be great fun at a track day though.....

More info.......

Ok, so now I'm impressed......:D Ever since I got mine I've been happy enough with c. 100 bhp.....ok, so it's at the crank.. .....in the winter but for warm dry tarmac I've hankered after about 120 bhp for a while. €4,500 for the full monty mods ehh...? Anyone want to buy a VFR....
