Aaaarrrggggh!
Earlier this week, the ADV had passed the 70,000km mark, and I was raving about what a great bike it's been with absolutely no problems whatsoever

Yesterday, I started it up, turned it round on the drive, and it cut out. Odd, thinks me, doesn't normally do that. Stalled again a couple of times, but I still put it down to the freezing cold.
This morning, I'm just pull out onto the south of France's biggest roundabout, when the whole thing feckin dies, right in front of a sleepy French bus driver who hasn't noticed 16 stone man stranded in middle of road on big motorbike

Anyway, investigating, and wiggling wires makes me wish I'd found this thread a long while back. Feckin BMW.
So, stupid question. That wee grub screw in the barrel, do you have to get it all the way out? I know my record for dropping nuts, bolts, etc into engines, and garage floors, never to be seen again. If I just loosen it enough to drop the wiring out, will that suffice? Steptoe?
