Over the last couple of days I've had an intermittent problem with the ignition switch on my 06 1200. Key goes in and when I turn it, I don't get the ignition on and there is no power. A few goes and it generally works but I know it's going to fail eventually. I've worked out how bypass it and "hotwire it" because I'm 500 miles from the nearest dealer at the moment. Does anyone know what parts I need to sort it out?

It's not the EWS so I'm guessing it's the bottom part on the ignition switch block.:nenau

Exactly the same symptoms as mine displayed.

The ignition's micro-switches were worn. In my case, replaced under the extended warranty I bought.

Mine was an 06 bike with, at the time, about thirty odd thousand miles showing.

Happened to my Xchallenge ( I know it's
not same bike) it was the 2 pins on the bottom of ignition barrel holder, that broke off.
A zip tie can work to hold it all together as a temporary fix

Lots of WD40 through the keyhole (got to get down to block on underside) might give a temp fix.

My temp fix has lasted a few months :blast
