Internal Diameter of heated grip

Folks,

I've a K12s thats needing the grips replaced but I'm reluctant to replace the whole assembly so was wanting to just replace the rubber bit.

I know you can gently cut and split the old grip off leaving the heated element and you then buy 2 RHS grips, but I'm unsure sure if the ones supplied by Motorworks/moto-bins would fit the K12s, so does anybody know the inside diameter of the replcement grips the above supply and I can check against my grips on the K.

I'd be inclined to ask that question of James Sherlock/Motorworks/Moto-Bins.

I think that it was Motorworks that sent me the correct grips for my 1150. They may even be the same grips for your K, BMW would benefit from only using one type of heated grip.

Easy, just buy two pairs of rubber grips (any colour!), youwill need the two throttle side ones as these are bigger. gently cut off the old rubber (after removing the bar ends) use a pair of side cutters rather than a stanly knife as these will not damage the wires in the heated bit. Push on the new and walla!, they DO NOT require any adhesive and this will make remobval in the future very difficult, easier to do than write this.Look in the font of wisdom for this.

yup knew that bit

it was more to do with the internal diameter of the rubber grip as I was unsure if the GS grips where big all round or just thicker rubber, I spoke to Motorworks and they say the internal diameter is about 23/24mm.

A rough check puts my grips at about 26mm so they may fit with a bit of a fight if I soften them up first.

I order a set an see.
