Merv won't need a hot water bottle if he brings 'Fat Bob' with him. :D

Come on Mer bring your Harley and we can start our own non GS Club :ymca:D

A man must have his comforts :D

Have you got an alternative time? Seems like some heavy booking with the Easter holiday brigade. Let me know what you come up with, I am trying to get out of working a late shift Thursday.

I have just booked the tunnel late Thur night out and back Sun tea time for £50 so get ur bum in gear and get booking as Rich needs someone to hold his hand!!!

Oh and I forgot to say you cant go on the Harley as I dont have enough room for all the tools and spares we will need to carry to keep it going.... ok you can even bring your tent for the bike

Cor blimey guvner I'm booked on the 06.40 Seafrance ferry from Dover on Friday morning dont ya know. Now where did I put the hot water bottle:bounce1

Mermoto

we are booked on the 06.20 tunnel on good friday morning, will be staying about a mile from the tunnel on thurs evening to save riding down before the crossing and being up for most of the night
we may cross each others paths on the way there, will be stopping in adenkerke for tobacco and a coffee as we get into belgium, see you all later on if not,

just had 2 pairs of TKC80's fitted for the off road stuff, fack knows what they'll be like on the way there,

Mark71 and myself will probably be camping somewhere near Calais from the early hours of Friday morning. Will be hoping to link up with mermoto and jackass dave when they arrive at a more decent hour.

If we don't see you on the way up Mark and Mer will be easy to spot at the venue as they will be the guys comparing titanium tent pegs... and Dave will be the one with a toupee err... sorry I mean tepee!! :D

Sorry no titanium tent pegs this time as I have just got the normal ones, I think Merv pinched all mine last time but lets stop for port again like we did in the snow.

Is Merv taking the GS or the Harley as he will never get there with the Harley, he will be to busy washing it on the way.......

Catch you all on the other side......

Wash it on the way...what do you take me for. I have an ultralight, foldable and infinitely flexible washing bucket which I will be stowing in the panniers. I will also be sporting a new set of crafted aircraft grade aluminium eating utensils purchased in the US of A for the grand some of loadsawonga. :augie

Now what I need to know is do I inflate my hotwater bottle with helium prior to take off for Dover to reduce total carrying weight and improve fuel efficiency. This may be important given that I may have affected the GS's drag coefficiency of my panniers by attaching a new sticker

We are expecting to cross the Belgium border just before 9 am.
Just over the border is a town called adinkerke. most poeple stop here to buy tobacco ( loads of shops just off the A16) We will be there for a half hour or so if anyone wants to try to meet there.
We should be easy to spot at the meet as well 2 gs adventures both with KT06
Number plates. And I don't think you will see too many women on one of them.
TIC 80 tyres are interesting, bike felt like it wanted to throw itself on the floor first ride yesterday. Will try to get a better ride today in the dry.

look forward to seeing you there, not doing the off road bit this year as to far to go for it all to go wrong, were just going to take it easy and take in some of the local sights, any ideas guys?

Anyway we will be three amigos on the 1200, 1150 and the orange flem thing (cant slag it off too much as I used to have one), feel free to say hi oh and Dave is on the Aircooled with the teepee, however snow is forecast so Merv might not make it.

See you soon.

Mark

I've downloaded a few geocaches around the Broechem area for a bit of bimbling / exploring on one day. I'm happy to share info if anyone is interested?

I have Co-ords and clues loaded on my PDA and I can blue-tooth Zumo to Zumo?

Either that or mail me at cogs23(at)gmail.com and I can send the (translated by MiGSel :thumb) Word docs.

As those who have pre-registered should know, BMW Benelux are bringing a fleet of demonstrator GS's on the Saturday for us to play on (No HP2's though, apparently :( ). the reservation link is in Belgian but I've spoken to Willy and rides can be booked by mailing him direct (same eddress as for rally pre-reg: gs(at)bmw-mc-vl.be. )

Superbly organised rally will certainly go again.
Got some pics when we get time to upload them.
