Internet working, phone cut off !!???

I'm on BT Broadband. Next door neighbour is having his drive bricked, during this proess a BT cable leading up to his house was exposed.

Today the telephone line has gone dead, but I can't understand why, when the internet is still working. I've tried three phones & sockets all dead, but as well as the internet still working, so is the Broadband phone.

Ideas any? I tried to phone the BT helpline, no answer.

Happened to me a couple of months ago......................

They took a while to repair the fault, but the worst bit was the number of different BT folk that phoned me to tell me that they had fixed it ............ up to 7 days after it was fixed.

Call them from another landline - unless you can get their internet reporting system to work. THey will transfer all your incoming calls to your mobile at no cost to you or your callers, which is handy.

If you are on a router and ONE of the wires gets the chop your BB will still work, if this is the case DO NOT turn off the router or your BB will not kick in again.

Just phoned BT, they've checked the line, the fault lies in their line, not my phones.

My neighbours drive looks very nice
