Thank you everyone for the kind comments.
One week back is a good time to look back and pick out the key bits.
1. If anyone has never been to a UKGSer event, give it a go. I have never been to a duff one.
2. If, like me, you have never been too far into Ireland, I can recommend it. Why hadn’t I been before? Sheer laziness, based on nothing more that I can be on the Chunnel and pretty much in Marseille in two days but it’s probably two days (from central east London) to Leenane. That’s been my loss, I guess.
3. I liked the crossing from Fishguard and then riding across to Leenane. Dublin is a mess (for traffic) and the arrival in north Wales, more so. I’d use the Pembroke crossing again.
4. The destination suits either the solo or group traveller. Stand still for two minutes and someone will talk to you or make some very amusing comment. Just watch out though, half an hour of your life can vanish, before you know it. It’s best not to be in too much of a hurry…. Which is (often) a good thing!
5. You don’t need a huge bike to do it on. There again, you don’t need a huge bike to ‘Do’ most things…..
