Introducing "Dessie"

Hi all,

Modified my 1100 this winter.
Mounted a B-Beak in combination with the TT Desierto fairing.
Didn't like the gab between the fairing and the tank and made it fit nicely to the B-Beak.
Made my own setup for a respectfull GR lookalike paintjob.

Looks OK but I'm not sure about the colour scheme. What is the thingy above your dials. IMO GPS or what.

It's a Magellan Meridian GPS in a TT holder.
Like to have it right on front of my face, so I don't have to look down and away from the track.
I made a three legg in aluminium, so it brakes of with the windshield in case of a crash.

Are there many GSers in Denmark?

Looks as if my wife (Danish) son and I will be relocating from the UK to Ebeltoft towards the end of the year.

I will probably leave the bike (97 1100GS) over in the UK to start with in the hope that the import/registration tax is reduced at sometime between now and then.

We don't have an official club, but we have a team that rides together and meets for evening rides, international rides etc.

Ebeltoft is on Djursland, very nice part of Denmark.
I will be taking the ferry there on fridag to Sjælland (Sealand) to meet the GS guys for a wedding on saterday.

I understand your concern about the tax on import bikes.
I moved from Holland to Denmark in 1993 and payed the tax on my RT.
When I think of it, did you have your GS for over 12 months?
Check the EC regulations, cause then you should be able to take your GS without paying taxes.

Maybe we'll meet one day.

This should be true (might only be six months) so all you'll need is to sort your light dip and KMH speedometer, which you have already probably as UK bikes have both.

The B-Beak is a fiberglass copy 1150 beak, modified to fit the 1100GS by a dutch motorcycle designer by the name Bart van den Boogaard.

Wow dude that is bright but I like it! Sure will stand out from the regular crowd of GS's.

Any specific type of paint you used on the front forks or was it powdercoated? Same question about the silver subframe bits which is now nice and bright on your bike?

It's all common car paint.

It's a new cover on the original seat.
Klaus Poulsen from KP Polstring here in town made it.
He's the son of my neighbour and normally he does furniture and truck cabins.

And got the last part yesterday.
