thanks guys,my bike has 55,000ks on it,it always pinged for the first 2.5 yrs,i had it back under warranty numerous times before they pulled the plugs out and they were white.they couldnt fix it then and had to wait a week for a software update to arrive from germany.(sounds like a story)when i got it back its never been the same.every time it went in for warranty it came out going worse than it went in.the bike doesnt get ridden that much and only comes out for touring duties.it gets ridden softly.....i wanted to sell the bike but came up with a brilliant idea.i would do the maintenance myself and get the bike going properly.thats how i found you guys, oil, final drive-i even pulled the shaft out and put moly on the front spline.new tyres(contis)marc parnes balance, gearbox oil-when i did this the oil was putrid even though they resealed the gearbox under warranty because it was leaking,it had metal all through it.its always ran rough at idle since the upgrade so i looked at the stepper motors-if you pull them out dont turn the key on then off because the ends are spring loaded and they fly across the room then you cant get them back in.had them reset on computer and faults cleared, then the guy with power commander rings up its in and ready to be dynoed.i wanted to recheck cable slack so was redoing tb synch with slack, this time i unplugged the steppers then after 10secs or so it went clunk clunk-not so bad i hope, its only running on one cylinder-the left one,the right is not working unless i gas it up to about 4000revs then it runs.it will run on one cylinder at idle,i pulled both plug leads of each side and its the right thats not right.seems to get fuel as i pulled the injector off and it pumps.pulled a plug and it gets spark,it goes in on monday-was for a abs brake bleed but now have changed it to some diagnostics.being philosophical its making me a better roadside mechanic i hope,as my roadside toolbox contained a couple of prayers. will keep you posted and also will let you know how the power commander goes. thanks for any suggestions as they all help.mark.
