anyone stayed here overnight and could recommend a watering hole and food stop for 5 hungry Irish bikers!

You could try Brambles, they do b&b with food all day. In the late spring and summer they also do food at night. Other than that give trip advisor a look. ( the Inveraray hotel tends to have a lot of motorcycle visitors but I ))can’t vouch for the quality of the hotel). Great roads in the area,I’d recommend a visit to the crinnan canal and a run down to Campbeltown/Southend. Have a good trip.

Pleasant enough as a tourist town but it does get very busy in the season. Accomodation will be expensive and other than a few cafes the old town jail and the lair of the Campbells, not a lot to be seen. If coming north on the west coast, I always suggest cutting off Inveraray etc by using the Dunoon - Gourock ferry. Have a break, enjoy the views on the ferry and then the ride north from Dunoon to Oban is wonderful.

That’s the route we use A712 then A713 towards Ayr. McInroys point to Dunoon then a cross to Portavadie and ferry to Tarbert. The roads from there to Oban is a great ride. Usually call in and visit a mate on Seil. We do use Premier inns quite a bit as there are around 12 of us and they usually have decent parking. The Spoons in Oban is pretty good for its location alone.

Best one in town Samphire just along from the George hotel . Highly recommended
Looks like its closed on Google maps I would give it a call . You would need to book its a very busy place. 5 star

No unfortunately he’s not a bike rider. I worked with him in the Fire Service. He’s a Sea Kayak and Munro bagging type. He built his own house on Seil when he retired. I’m hoping to go see him in spring with another ex job biker that’s having a tough time with his health so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 he is feeling strong enough.

A group of 6 of us, 3 couples, stayed at Brambles and ate at the Inveraray Inn. The B and B was fine, as was the breakfast. Food at the aforementioned Inn was also good (A veggie moaner and a gluten intolerant moaner amongst the 6). This was 2019 tho....

Have a look at the Coylet inn, on. Loch eck side. About 20 miles from Inverary.
It’s about 8 miles north of Dunoon on the A815.
A group of us are staying there one Sunday in May.
Don’t be put off by the room only rate. They’ll do breakfast if you let them know in advance.

The George hotel, if you book early enough.
+1

I stayed there a couple of years ago. Secure parking, big, comfortable rooms, great food, live music some nights. I'd be very happy to stay there again.
