Photo's saved on ipad.. When I want to set one as wallpaper, the photo becomes too big, with 'move and scale' message, but if you try and pinch it to fit screen, nothing happens...

Anyone any idea how to set the picture to fit the screen?

Thanks in advance :beerjug:

i've seen something similar happen when the photo is too small to fit the screen.

Try this.

Ensure that "Reduce Motion" is ON (Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion, set the slider to "on" (green)).

Take a photo with your iPhone/iPad, oriented vertically ("Portrait")

Access the photo in the "Camera" app.

Tap Edit.

Use the Crop tool to remove excess content from left and right (basically, you want a vertical rectangle, with your subject matter centered in it).

Tap Crop. The image will be slightly enlarged to fit your screen.

Tap Save.

Tap the "square with a vertical arrow" button (bottom left) -- Sorry don't know what this button is called.

Scroll through the options at the bottom of the screen and select "Use as Wallpaper".

Tap Set, then pick which screen(s) should use the photo.

Tried all that , still looks as if its zoomed in about 25% for instance its cutting heads off ( i always view in portrait, photo's look fine when I view them, only have a problem when I try and use one as wallpaper....

Re: IOS 7 wallpaper resizing will not shrink photo to fit screen...

Okay, are you guys ready for a temporary fix?

The issue is the photos your trying to apply as a wallpaper were not configured to the same resolution that IOS 7 works with. The fix that worked for me was to take a screenshot of the photo I wanted to set as my wallpaper, then use the screenshot to apply the wallpaper. Its the same photo, but has the new resolution that IOS 7 allows.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input chaps.. The apple forum is the same problem.... And it now appears that the screen shot option for setting wallpaper seems to sort it :thumb

The pic i was trying now doesn't have half the head removed

This place is a mine of information and helpfulness ( if that's a word ) :D
