I have a 3g iPhone paired with my zumo 550 and autocom blue tooth dongle. Everything works perfectly except speech making mobile calls. I can hear the dial tone and hear the answer at the other end but the recipient cannot hear me talking. Any ideas??
Zumo and iPhone both correctly list paired devices.

Is this a one off, or does it happen every time?

The reason I ask is that I have a zumo 550 which connects to the iphone 3g via bluetooth. I have it linked to the Autocom using the cable for music and the Autocom bluetooth module for voice.

Everything works fine, but the other day I had the same symptoms as you where I could hear the caller but they couldn't hear me. A reboot of Zumo and Autocom (ignition off and back on) sorted it out.

Sorry I can't offer advice on what is wrong with your setup, but at least you know it is a working solution.

I have just installed the bluetooth dongle for my Iphone 4:clap. I had a problem with the volume which turned out to be my own fault as I had turned the autocom unit down instead of up:blast. While I was trying to sort it I found that if the dongle was plugged into the wrong socket then I could hear the caller but they could not hear me. This sounds like the same problem that you are having so it could be that you need to change aux sockets. Then again I could be wrong again:blast

If this is of any use to anyone the bluetooth dongle must be in aux 2 on the Autocom
hope this helps

Whilst this is the case for more recent BT dongles and Autocom units the earlier mono #1273 dongle should go into Aux1 on the Active Plus or Super Pro Avi.

Have you confirmed that the autocom is BT connected as a Headset. If it is not then you will get the symptoms you describe.

Is this the new BT dongle??
As i had probs with the old one - wouldnt work with iphone!

Just ordered the new one which auto answers the iphone apparently, hopefully that will work!

The New Autocom and Starcom Bluetooth module forces the Iphone and other smart phones without auto answer to connect after 3 rings!

Got mine fitted , just need to work out best way to connect everything by BT!!
:augie

Guys, I have a slightly different problem. Iphone 4 BT to my Zumo 550 which is BT to my new Autocom dongle and hard wired to the Autocom Active Rider. The dongle is connected to Aux port 2 and the Zumo to Aux port 1. All works well but when a call is made I can hardly hear the recipient. If I'm riding I have no chance of hearing the phone at all. The recipient can hear me as clear as day but not my end:nenau. I have tried changing the the aux ports over and seem to get better sound (stereo music) from the Zumo when it is connected to port 2 but then the phone won't work properly.

Any ideas?

If the Zumo connects to the BT dongle as an audio headset then shouldn't you be able to lose the hard wire totally?

Just tried it Dan and makes no difference apart from the sound quality when listening to music is really bad. No stereo sound and really poor quality. I have music stored on the SD card in the Zumo. So it's just a simple audio cable from the Zumo to the Autocom. Volume in call is still very poor regardless of whether the audio cable is connected or not..... I have also noticed that stereo sound is only available through Aux port 2.

Might just give up the ghost and loose the phone connection altogether at least that way I still get pure stereo sound.

Might be a bluetooth dongle up for sale soon.....

YES. The dongle for Bluetooth voice should be connected to Aux 1 (the main phone port) - this is MONO on the Active rider, and you have to set up the Zumo to use Bt for voice. The hard wire for STEREO music should be connected into Aux 2. Aux1 and any rider-to-pillion speech will mute Aux 2 or 3.

Thanks Beemerboy:thumb2

Just resolved the problem after a brief chat with the guys at Motorbike Adventures. The main problem was caused by me using the wrong cable to connect the dongle to the Autocom unit.....:blast I used the 4 pole to 4 pole when it should be the 4 pole to 3 pole:blast..

All sorted now with great sound and clear speech:D:thumb2
