seen this on eblag - anyone any idea what model it is / how old and if it can be powered from the bike ?

Just want something basic for GPS and maybe phone and if I can get on with it, maybe bike to bike with radios later (big if). Unlikely to ever want tunes on the bike.

looks

like the Pro 3000 model, made between 1993 - 2000. Not sure if its powered from the bike but it certainly getting a bit of an antique. I would try to get something a bit new newer personally.

I bought one in August 1993 at the time it was the best on the market. It only started to go wrong in 2006 so I then bought a Super Pro Avi. I have no complaints at all.

This one is the 5 pin system and is powered by a small 9v battery. Forget to turn it off and its flat. Autocom sold a bike powered add-on, which is what I used. I can't see it in the picture.

The Pro 3000 would allow for the connections but due to how the system is designed you would not be able to run a bike to bike and phone connection at the same time as the system is not as expandable compared to out later systems.
