Evening all,

Picked up my white 72 plate RS earlier this year. When I say picked up, it was actually delivered to me in London all the way from Lloyds Motorrad in Carlisle.

Really happy with the bike, already put 2000 miles on her through commuting and ride-outs and I’m definitely enjoying all the new luxuries that come with modern BMW’s; I’m now not convinced I could live without a heated seat in future.

I was hoping to put a photo up but it doesn’t appear to be letting me. Is another level of membership required?

The main question I had was about removing a Puig rear hugger that came with the bike.
After reading a few posts, then being advised by a local dealer I’ve decided to remove it and have a mud sling ready to fit.
A bag of original bolts came with the bike (thanks previous owner) so I think I’ve got the original BMW bolts to put back in. Any idea what torque setting is needed for both? (1st longer bolt goes in the swing arm pivot point & the 2nd into the caliper).

Again I was hoping to put up a few photos of the two bolts to confirm they’re the right ones.
1st is 65mm long
2nd is 35mm long (both BMW Hex).

You need to be a subscriber to post photos and sell stuff etc. Great value at £12. The instructions don't specify any torque settings. Just 'nip' them up. The classic. 'Don't overtighten' appears! 😁 There's no mention of those two bolts you've got. It appears that the bolts you need come in the pack.

I’m actually after the torque settings for the main original bolts going back in after taking off the Puig rear hugger. Photos added to explain things better:

Oh, I see! Sorry! Rear caliper bolts are 24nm, the final drive pivot is 56nm and is chunky. With the second one, make sure you've got a good quality torx bit and can put force on it in a straight line onto the torx bolt head or you could strip it. Ask me how I know! 😁 I put a dab of Loctite blue on both.

I think I’ll use my imagination about how you know…

Got myself a quality set of torx bits soon after getting the bike 👍🏻
