The youngster has got one of those new-fangled iPods that let you menu your selection from a picture of the album cover. Unfortunately, her iTunes doesn't have any album covers stored.

So what do I need to do?

Is it as simple as storing the albums in directories which are named the name of the album and including a .jpg of the album cover?

What does a .png file do?

AFAIK - open iTunes, in the music list right click on a song from an album, then choose 'get album artwork'. You may need to be registered with iTunes/iTunes shop can't remember.

You can add your own artwork but i can't remember how to do it at the mo.

That's what I want to do.

Ok, had a fiddle around. First off find your album artwork and save it. I saved mine in Music/iTunes/Album Artwork. Leave the folder open on your desktop.

Then open iTunes, In the library highlight an entire albums worth of music, right click and choose 'get info'. Click yes in the pop up asking if you want to edit multiple items.

On the next window you can see a box on the right for artwork, drag and drop your artwork into the box, click ok. That should be job done.

sloth radio site is your friend here :)

if you have a mac, just drag the artwork direct from the site to the relevant place* in itunes ;)

if you're a pc sufferer, you'll need to save it first :P

*Artwork tab of Get Info window (best for multiple tracks, highlighted as described by st247), or direct into Now Playing window for (quicker for single tracks).
