Hey you can't own a location man!!
Hi All,

I've tried to use my ipod while riding but the headphone which come with the pod don't work inside my helmet.

Can anyone recommend a good set of headphones which idealy keep the background noise out to and which are a snug fit?

Also I see lots of people are having issues with the battery life in their pod, does there exist an adaptor which fits into the socket under the seat on the 1200?

Cheers

Can I suggest getting yourself a set of Sony Phontopias from Amazon for about £30 and then going to see Cool Carbon, who'll make you a set of custom moulded plugs to take them, for about £40.

Tell you what.....I'll even give you a tenner towards all that so they'll only cost you sixty quid all in.....:)

I have the sony's and they're excellent but have just ordered a set of these

looking to get custom mouldings made for them as well...

will have to go with big dom - etymotics are absolutely the way forward. try www.headphone.com

pricy stuff - but get the total airhead amp and some etymotics, and long distance rides (bikes and planes) are a totally different kettle of fish. best $300 i ever spent.

Can't see the problem  I use the Ipod 40Gig and the headphones it came with and all works fine! Ipod is charged as it is going along by feed off bike battery (to BMW female then IPod charger into that).
Don't use it in Spain though as Mike tells me its illegal...
:P :P

A I said I use the ET 4's which are considerably cheaper than the 6's and virtually indistinguishable qaulity difference, especially when on a scoot! Worth noting that they have now also got a iPod version with some added dB in the base response and the obligatory white finish! I did not go for these as one can add base on the EQ if needed and I like agenerally like a flat/neutral response. I have tried the Sony jobs and Koss and these are superior.

Again this is THE way to go IMHO.:D

I got my Shure E5c's last night....phenonemenal sound....expensive in the UK but got mine from the US for less than half the price...

Hi there,

I'm not saying this will sort you out, but this freeware allows you to boost the volume of the iPod up to 80%. It works great, and I can now hear it in the tube or on the bike (Autocom headphones).

Definitely worth a try. Costs you a beer if you like it (there is a link on the website to a shareware that does the same for Mac).

Yeah - I have also done this - works great but then you REALLY DO need decent earphones eg. ER's
