Ipod help required

Recently bought one of the sexiest bits of kit out there - the Ipod. Fantastic sound, capacity etc. But... very quiet through an autocom system, even when used with rubbish earplug. The music disappears above 60mph - so no assistance to boring motorway slogs. Anyone else had the same problem and reached a solution?

You could try the Sony MDREX&!SLB headphones which are part earplug. The soft flange helps remove some of the external noise. I use an older version of this headphone with success and find the external noise does not intrude untill much higher levels then it did with other in-ear types. Sony also do a special version in white for the iPod though I have only seen them on e-bay, and presume they are sold abroad, going for much higher prices than the black "ordinary" version.

I have an iPod running through an Autocom and I found it quite usable even when wearing filtered custom ear plugs. I suggest either your iPod has a fault or your in-helmet speakers are not optimally placed.

I now use custom moulded monitors (everyhing else was struggling) and now anything over 1/4 volume is painfully loud

No such thing as a dumb question - Monitors = Custom Moulded Earplugs with built-in speakers got mine from these people mention my name - might get yourself a bit of a discount. Do a search on ultimate ear for a few more user opinions - there's a few of us on here now.

Noise Cancelling Headphones

Has anyone tried the noise cancelling headphones on a motorcycle. I have a set of Sony MDR-NC11 but I have not ridden enough over here in the UK to need music.

You can pick these up for about $100 USD over in the US which strangely equates to about 120 GBP when they try and sell them on the high street????

Now these with custom fitted plugs would be a treat.

I work for myself so sometimes need to answer calls from customers if I've been naughty and gone out during the week.

I currently have a DIY headset which is fitted in my helmet with a mike which I can use for either the ipod or the phone.

Ah, if we want to have more than one device in use then I'm afraid its Autocom time for you too. Though I have to admit since I got the monitors I tend to choose which one do I want and bypass the Autocom. If I'm on a long one then I'll pull spaghetti junction out from under the seat and have the works served through the Autocom into the monitors.

The chappie who does this stuff modifies the autocom headset. For the phone he does something else its all here better still give Dave MArshall a call and he'll walk you through it all. Must dush I've some pig to go and eat
