I'm sure you've checked...............but it's not the lock switch thingy on the top?

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

Ipod fix;

Large hammer, then get a Zen Creative. Cheaper, better, and I got an FM radio as well as the MP3 bits.

Im very happy with it. Look up Creative Zen plus.... mine cost me £69 for a 4 meg with radio (lots cheaper than an Ipod)

if you can't get it unfrozen - log in to apple and they'll send you a courier to collect your ipod - they'll usually send a brand new one out within 3/4 working days - great service

My daughters I-pod does the same thing occasionally - I simply let it run down the battery and then power it up on the charger again - And if by magic ....... It works again:thumb2 !

What he said. If you look in the manual it'll tell you how to do a reset. Mine did it on the first day so I took it back, they reset it and it's never done it since. :)
