Ipod tunes to PC - Help

Which is the best way to rip tunes from my ipod onto my PC.
Tried adding folder to the itunes library then in my computer selecting the Ipod but it only seems to transefer 50% of each album

I was looking into doing this when I got my Ipod but couldn't do it. If you read your Ipod instruction manual it actually says its not possible to transfer music from the Ipod to a computer . I suppose its to stop illegal distribution. If i'd known this when I bought it I would have proboably bought an MP3 played that uses Real One Player as its poss with that.

After trying nemerous applications I've found 'sharepod' to be the easiest to use. Just install it on your Ipod then you can connect your ipod to any pc, open sharepod from the ipod and transfer all or any of your files

After installing sharepod on my ipod and trying it at work i thought everything was ok. It works fine at work and on a couple of friends pc's but won't open on my laptop which is where i really want my music
