iQue 3600 report
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got a chance to use it real world on a 420mi. day trip this weekend.
The night before I loaded the detail maps of the area I was planning to travel from the supplied CD rom onto a 256mb SD card I bought(comes with 32mb internal) I loaded half of NY and all of Ct. and MA. down to street level including all the database for Gas,banks,Lodging, stores, everything you could imagine including strip clubs

and had 120mb left over to load MP3's good for a couple hours of music on my PDA/GPS talk about being versatile. Directions and music.
I made a temporary mount with Velcro and a rubber band onto a ram mount system. Taped into my bike for power.. internal battery life sucks using GPS tracking with music.
I also tied in the iQues headphone out jack(green plug) into my wireless transmitter system which sends high fidelity MP3 audio and mono GPS turn prompts to the untethered stereo helmet system whats great is if you plan a route it mutes the music when it gives you a direction change prompt (I loaded the English babes voice software instead ot the US sterile sounding voice)

BTW. if you miss a turn it will reroute you automatically cuts down on uee's. also great for checking unknown roads puts you back on track anytime you want.
One of the things I was most Impressed by was the visibility of the display and using the touch screen (need to put a fake nail on my glove to be more precise picking music while driving.
Here's a pic in direct sunlight.............
Here's one in my garage...........
I tell you I'm pleased on how well this combo PDA/GPS fits in for the adventuress biker.
I almost forgot one of the best features..............it's logging your whole trip I was being lead to places unknown and when I got back I played back the log files to map out the best roads for future trips.
Look I Know this unit has some drawbacks compared to GPS only units but the plus features outweigh those units 10 fold for real world use in every day scenarios. How many days a week can you use a GPS only unit? I rate this unit a 9 out of a possible 10.
IF it rains just slip a zip lock bag over it and you can still use the touch screen
