Is ASC Worth Getting ?

Thanks everyone - just ordered the new bike and opted out of ASC in the end.

I had hoped it would prove useful off-road but I have not been able to find any tests comparing the system in off road mode compared to a non ASC bike. I would also be curious as to how the system copes with say, slippery, melting tar on a corner on a very hot day for instance?

I would have thought it would be a hinderence off-road.....there are times when you specifically WANT to spin the rear, and I can imagine it causing a bike to get bogged down with no power being delivered at all in muddy ruts :nenau

At least you can turn it off .

Not for me :)

I'm glad of it.........

Seeing that I never use my :GS off road I spec'd mine with ASC. Yesterday whilst out on a local ride out in the rain I experienced the use of it for the first time and was able to ride this particularly "extremely" slippery road a lot faster and safer than usual.
In the dry our cobbled roads have zero grip and when they're wet they're just plain scary. Okay it felt good that I was able to control slides with my previous heavy R1150GSA, but I much prefer the yellow ASC lamp of the 1200 flicking on and experiencing no slides!
