Hi everyone
I have a Rallye 3 jacket bought it in Germany last year and used it for 3 weeks there and brought it back to Canada, did not use it until now and I just found out the lower part of the liner sleeves get soaked in the rain! The rest of the liner works fine! anyone else has this issue? Should I change it under warranty or they all the same? Just Talk to my dealer and they are talking to BMW!
Thanks!

I believe they use a waterproof drop liner which means that all though the jacket should keep you dry the item itself will get very wet !

The lower part of your sleeves is probably water getting up under the glove seal !

yup what he said

Annoyingly, had exactly the same problem on my new SG4, the older one has the elasticated cuff attached to the outer and never had the problem but the new one has the cuff on the inner. One wet ride left me able to wring water out of my fleece's sleeve. Not impressed for an £1100 suit, also water got into the wallet pocket leaving me with wet cash. Apparently none of this is a fault with the suit, just a poor design.

So BMW clothing really is crap and best avoided then by the sound of it, I've been looking at Rev-It laminate stuff and it looks better and cheaper than BMW clothing

Also going to look at Kilm, tried some Rukka stuff on too but just couldn't get comfortable in any of it

No, load of bollox. I have a BMW comfort shell suit. It has a waterproof laminated shell and is superb. I also have a Rallye 2 jacket as a summer jacket. The liner is waterproof (goretex) I knew that when I bought it and simply use it when it's hot and carry a lightweight waterproof shell if it is showery.

I washed my BMW stuff (Rallye suit & summer trousers) in Nikwax. Can't make them waterproof because of the vents but it does a good job of beading most of the water off it. I did ths because I get caught out leaving the GoreTex liner at home.

I have had the same issue. What happens is the jacket wets out, water runs down the inside of the outer jacket. If you have the inner waterproof liner tucked in your gloves then the water runs down the outside and into the glove. The only solution is to ensure the liner goes on the outside of the glove and ensure a tight seal. In my view, unless you live in a hot dry climate this kit is not suitable for wet climates...as others have said, there are much better jackets out there for the money.

This was my conclusion as well after some brief research, the top makes (Kilm, Rukka, Rev'it) seem to leave the BMW kit for dead and are often the same price or cheaper
