Having just had both exhaust cams done on my 67 plat GS at 7.5K, i'm wondering if its always the exhaust one that goes? or do inlet ones go as well?

Also, I'm thinking forward to this winter and may invest in some tools myself... I could actualy make the cam jig and TDC tool at work, but the chain tensioner thing is another matter although I did see a vid by the bloke in the US who made one...
Anyway, may as well buy the lot I guess.. is it a trip to the dealers:)

Here are your part numbers below, prices have gone up, but it will give you a starting point, Warlord Shakeybmw and myself have the same kit, you will also need from Snapon the tool below, if you do not already have one.

whats the sleeve for?

Also, do you check the backlash on the gears.. I know you can get them in different sizes?

okay, the sleeve goes on the chain tensioner... I'd assumed it was part of it...

Same question on the gears.... on my first LC they put new gears in and it made it run very quiet.. think you can get them in a few sizes so you get the lash correct... THB I think a lot of the noise we get is the cam going over ctr and taking the lash up in the gear wheels, so jumping to the other side of the tooth when its at low RPM?... obviously as it gets faster its abuility to do this is not possable.

Anyone check this dim?
