Is it dying?

My laptop monitor was blank for ages this morning after I switched it on, just vague shapes/outlines could be seen. I did the female thing of letting it have a rest and after a while (10 mins) it gradually started working with some flickering, but now is OK

is it on its last legs?

and NO I did NOT drop it, it was fine last night

Has it been somwere cold before you used it? that usually makes LCD screens go a bit funny!

Sounds like the backlight isnt coming on. Could be the microswitch which turns it on when you open the lid.
