Sorry to have to ask but I could do with some knowledge

I've got some slight play in at my back wheel, 3-9, and 6-12 o'clock positions, with and without brake on..... No oil leaks just slight play.

Is this a sign of FD trouble? I can't feel any vibrations or hear any rumble's.

What do you reckon?

That'll be a bearing booking an early lunch somewhere...

Had to have mine replaced last year even though it rode fine...

I did have it done at a dealers...Motorrad Central East...but it was part of a full engine rebuild so was included in the final nightmare, sorry bill...

As I said, not uncommon (unusual for an 1150 I know.. ) so they should be able to give you a decent guesstimate...

Yes

Sounds like tyour Paralever bearing.
I just done mine today as I had the same problem.
There are lots of threads on it here if you do a search.
I bought mine from Sherlocks - £35 delivered.

Great sense of achivement having done it myself and i've saved a few Bob...

If it's the wheel bearing it's an easy straightforward job to change yourself. (as are paralever bearings)
I change mine at at 20k mile intervals in the hope it doesn't fail and carry the 'old' one as a spare for longer trips.

Do a search for details on how to do, or:

Drain the oil.
Remove the allen bolts and cover.
Prise the bearing back with 2 or 3 screwdrivers or tyre levers.
Heat the new bearing in a saucepan on the stove when the missus is out before fitting.
Remove the seal in the cover and fit a new one.
The large O ring will probably be ok but change it anyway
Put some oil or grease on the spigot when replacing the cover and seal to prevent damage.

Save yourself ££££££s
