Shaft drive is a new conept for me so could somebody enlighten my limited knowledge , if i put the bike up on the centrestand and engage 1st gear there is about 55mm of play before it stops moving is this ok , the bike is a gsa 12 and has only done 5 1/2 thousand miles

don't worry, there is always some lash in the transmission, even white ones.

Colours fine. Just add some judiciously sited day glow reflector stripes and it will make filtering easier than you even imagined.

The lash is nothing to do with the shaft drive, it's all in the gearbox.
