I need to change the mph speedo face with a new Venoxy pretty km/h face.
However on closer inspection of the speedo, it looks like its intended to be a sealed unit.
The front metal rim is crimped over the plastic body, with little wriggle room to try to pry the front glass free.
Has anybody successfully done it?
Ive been levering at mine for close to an hour, but its very stubborn...

I can answer this one myself. I dont expect many UKGSers having to change the face to kmh :)
... it was a challenge. For about 1 1/2 hours working away with a small flat headed screwdriver, trying to roll back tough steel over soft plastic. But got there in the end. Removed the white needle, but couldnt get the little black stopper off the old face, so placed the new face on top of the old one.
Cant get the metal srurround back to how it looked in the first place though. It seems like BMW never intended for it to be a home DIY job.
