......Vista has taken many of the great things that we got used to in XP and effing changed them - for what? Fecked if I know.
I STILL cannot get the settings in Vista to allow me to download a free antivirus such as AVG or AVAST. I'm on the verge of paying someone £35 for an hour's consultation to fix this, and I should feckin have to.

the basic rule of any microsoft operaqting system is NEVER get the first generation of it as it'll be pants and full of bugs at least wait for service pack 2 version as it'll be along
XP is a good system thats stable and works well, don't waste the time upgrading

XP SP2 vis now stable and its short comings are well known and can be fixed by any bike mechanic, well almost. Vista needs SP1 before I will think about it as I feel it was rushed out. I understand some Laptops went back to and XP OS.
If your XP is running slow and has been installed for 2 to 3 years just save all you docs etc to another drive, format the original drive and re install XP and all will be back to normal.

why all the vista bashing, mine is running sweet as a nut (touch wood) Sure it's a little different to xp but not in a big way

Three PC`s and a laptop all running XP SP2 ranging from 1/2 a gig to 2 gig if RAM all running fine.
One PC running Vista,two gig of ram,dual core centrino,silent running etc etc and BLOODY BORING!. Yes it has got bugs and yes everything is hidden but when the microsoft service patches stop we will all have to change to Vista or...much much better....Apple Mac,when i save up for one, Bill Gates can kiss my backside!

what everyone else said, don't touch Vista if you can get away with it....never buy beta products.....

Vista is far better than XP....

Soon SP3 for XP Pro is due to be released first half 2008....
It will mainly be a collection of all the individual security and other patches released since SP2
