Allihies again.. but off to Asia soon....
No offence to organisers but Lahinch is not really a great town for a GS meet rather a family holiday place.

Why not try somewhere else more appropriate,

Roundstone - Crookhaven - Allihies etc etc....

Nice small villages with good roads and nice pubs....

Everyone seemed to have a good time and the roads surrounding were good enough for a ride out or two.

I liked the sound of the campsite Madmountainman had found on the beach in Rinvyle. Small village with a pub and a tents only campsite that ran up to a white sand beach.

It's roughly where the cross hairs are on the map below...

CAMP SITES

...does Madmountain, Whatton or anyone else have a list of tent only sites?

Don't get me wrong i liked Lachinch, and Ian has worked hard at it.

but i wouldn't mind going somewhere else...spread the wealth

up a bit further north would be good MAYO or DONEGAL or even N.I.

Discussions are already afoot for a new proposed venue, with the Peaks having grabbed the usual date there would have been a change anyway so a new venue to go with a new date seems appropriate.

The Ocean Bay lets down the Lahinch do and Pthag knows that but only a fool would hack along the crap roads just to get on the piss for two nights and then back aain the same way.

Witness the pics you are seeing already on here and people are realising a hack there and back is a road only to dissappointment, for those of us contempleting a trip over from the UK I'd not bother for less than a 5-dayer with the weekend in the middle.

What Pthag could certainly do with is more local help, for two years Pthag and Debbie have done this off their own back and it is too much for them to improve things without help and more than just offering to sell raffle tickets or t-shirt help.

Other than Phil Gunn last year and Peter this year there is little obvious help provided by those local enough to provide assistance in ride out/route planning for such an event.

This is the beach and campsite that Richie recomended to us......absolutely beautiful place, fantastic roads all around and a lovely place to spend a few days......

Yes, it IS meant to be that big :mmmm
