Is my alarm/immobiliser causing a parasitic drain?

I've just removed the tracker and left the sub-loom and antenna tucked away.

I have no idea how to change the alarm to manual and sounder style.
I'm not sure why one would leave the tracker loom in place but I guess, if the alarm (DWA) still functions correctly it shouldn't be a problem.

The rider's manual for your bike is available here ......... https://www.bmwmotorcycles.com/en/service/manuals/rider-manual.html#/section-further-manuals

Just page down to your bike's 4 digit model code. Somewhere in chapter 4, around page 87 - 93? will be the full explanation of the DWA system & how to personalise it's operation.

When the alarm sounded I thought I was doing something wrong. At least when I move the bike on the new owner will have the option of re-installing the tracker without having to fit the wiring harness.

Thanks for the info regarding the alarm, I'll take a look at sorting that out.

Hi , just been reading this thread with interest as I have just recently purchase's a 1250 gs which has a scorpion tracker fitted which I intend to remove very shortly,
Any one got a heads up as to which leads to unplug or is it fairly obvious
Thanks,
Ian.

Count yourself lucky my other bike has a tracker, fuck knows where lol

When the 1250 GS is turned off there is always a small parasitic current drain, it is supposed to be around 1mA - adding anything like a tracker, alarm, immobiliser etc will increase the current flow when the bike is off - my Datatool tracker would drain enough from the battery to make it touch and go whether the bike would start after 3 days in the Winter. I disconnected it and then everything was fine.

If you have to have constantly 'alive' add-ons the only solution is to the leave the bike on a maintenance charger, e.g the BMW one.
