Is my auto switch correct

Having fitted lights using Autoswitch via the indicator cancel button I've been told they are wrong.
To light I hold one second, release and the LED flashes. During the flash I hit again and the lights on with green LED.
Same to switch off but with red LED which flashes and goes out.
Is this correct as I know a few guys on this site use them.

I've got one and to switch them on I hold the cancel switch until it flashes then the same to switch off. Red is off, green is on.
