As I’ve got used to my GS LC coming from the 2010 model, I’m sure I’m right in saying that the ECU is perking up the more I ride it?

Usually as you get used to a bike, it feels like its losing power in comparison to when you had your first go…

The bloke I bought it off may have been quote a steady rider, whereas I, coming from ZZR’s and race bikes, probably use it to its limits… and I’m convinced its getting better every time I ride the thing? (done about 800 miles on it now)..

So does the ECU learn your riding style, adapting and varying what it does to the way you ride?

Or is that all tosh??.. cleaver if it does...

But are you happier ?

If the answer is yes, great. If no; try harder.

All tosh it's just more capable than you think it is.

Maybe you have stopped trying to find problems, and are just riding it..............;)

May be its getting blown out a bit... crud removed?... are we sure these ECU's don't learn?? :)

When you stop treating it like a big, heavy, slow-revving twin and give it some revs, keeping it over 5-6K, rolling on and off the throttle, it really shows itself off.

Ride it like you stole it

I have a new GS Rallye and man it can move , get it on song and you can have some really quick fun .

may be thats it.. stoped being so precious with it... and now giving it a bit of hammer :hammer

Take it to Hilltop. That will definitely improve it

Maybe your diminishing eyesight is making your riding look faster

That would be interesting if it did adapt. I believe (probably wrongly) that my car does so that slightly changes shift behaviour on the gearbox etc.
I know if I have been out with another rider who makes me up my pace and game the bike always feels more sporty to me for a while after.

My vw has fuzzy logic on the gearbox, so it tries to work out how slow/quick you're driving and changes gears accordingly.

Technology, don't you just love it

Coming from in-line Jap 4's I found I had to change my riding style, and found out that the more you twist the throttle, then more it goes! I was just being lazy.

That could be it.. My ZZR would do 100 MPH in first (or very close to it) and would get there in what felt like 2 seconds.. so most of the time you are not even twisting the throttle more than a few mm...
On the BM you have to twist it good... it does appear to have quite a long stroke also... quicker throttle would be better.. but guess thats our lot on FBW..

Change the mode to Dynamic if you have it..............
