Is offroad kit supposed to be more 'baggy'?

I recently bought a twat suit off a forum member which I thought fitted me but after a couple of weeks have decided it's a bit too big. with the thermal liners out for hot weather I can turn the knee and elbow armour all the way round so it just wouldn't do it's job in the event of a crash.

However, I see so many pictures of people on here with suits that look much baggier than mine did and I can't help but wonder what would happen in they were in an accident.

I know that proper offroad gear has all the armour underneath separately but with 'adventure' and road suits, surely they need to be a bit more 'snug'.

I'm 6foot 3 , 205 pounds and am wearing a size 56 coat. It's perfect fit with liner and a jumper on in the winter... thought it feels a bit loose in the summer with a t-shirt and liners out. However I can confirm that when one does fall... the armour stays in the correct place.... at 35 miles an hour anyway. I suppose when I bend my elbows everything fits snuggly... only when I'm standing up with arms by my side do the elbow pads move.

WHen I bought it I had tried a 54 which didn't really fit across the shoulders wen I was on the bike.. the back felt too tight... Before you sell it get to a bmw dealers and try on the smaller size and then decide what size you need/want.:thumb2

Sounds like your suit is too big to start with since the liner is only thin gortex.
On advantage with the old Hein Gericke Tuareg suits is they have adjustable straps which you can tighten when the liners (which are thicker) are removed.

Thanks, sounds like I'm correct in my reasoning and ideas for fitting. Just surprised when I see pictures of suits that are much baggier.

At least I can put my mind at rest...
